About us
The Personal Finance Counselling Association is a not-for-profit public benefit organisation that helps Croatian citizens master their personal finances.
The Association fulfils its mission in cooperation with financial service providers, financial market stakeholders, and large employers doing business in Croatia. In order to transfer the best personal finance practices from more developed financial markets, the Association creates partnerships with similar not-for-profit and professional organisations in Croatia and abroad. Since May 2007 it has been raising funds in order to provide free services to our clients.
Purpose
- To foster financial literacy and promote the culture of savings and investment as an integral part of civic culture,
- To promote and advance the profession of financial planning in Croatia, and set-up standards for personal finance planning profession in Croatia in cooperation with professional international financial planning organisations,
- To foster the culture of responsible spending among Croatian citizens and the culture of responsible lending among financial service providers, and to cooperate with various stakeholders active in the Croatian financial markets.

- Personal and Family Finance Counselling Service: consumer debt counselling and personal finance education
- €FPA Croatia: supporting the emergence of financial planning as a new profession in Croatia
- Personal Finance in Croatia Round Table: raising public awareness on personal finance issues
Activities
- Networking individuals and organisations providing personal finance planning services,
- Organising conferences, seminars, round tables and similar professional and educational events in the area of finances,
- Undertaking market and public opinion research,
- Publishing,
- Cooperation with professional and business associations of financial services providers,
- Cooperation with the legislative, executive, judiciary, and monetary authorities,
- Cooperation with other domestic and foreign individuals and organisations.
Basic information
The Association started its activities on June 12, 2006 under the name World of Insurance, Consumer Protection Association of Insurance, Banking and Other Financial Services. As of November 8, 2007, it operates under the name Personal Finance Counselling Association.
The Association is registered as a not-for-profit organisation under Croatian Associations Act with the Associations Register of the Republic of Croatia from May 5, 2008. Registration number 21006104.
